‘Now On View’ (24”x36”) is a mixed media collage completed in January of 2025. The work, started in late October, explores viewership from the female perspective. Putting one’s self, body, ‘on view’ is a performative and often exhausting job myself and many women, throughout many walks of life, experience and yet can turn away from. It intersects my personal relationship with hyperfemininity, and the love-hate relationship that that is. Throughout the work, you will find layers and grids at work, highlighting my interest in collage and the assemblage of found material, trash even. The female form has often appealed to male artists as a muse; I wanted to explore the same.
